Animal laboratory Course

A hands-on workshop will be offered as part of the S.E.T. conference.

Two sessions will be offered on February 18th , 2009 (8:00-12:00 AM) and (2:00-6:00 PM).

The participants will have the opportunity to perform several endovascular procedures including arterial angioplasty, embolization and vena cava filter placement in pig animal model.

Angioplasty

The objective is to provide a hands-on experience with the following devices:

Self-expandable stents
Balloon expandable stents
Covered stents
Cerebral protection devices (filters, reversal flow)
Several catheters and guide wires

Embolization

The objective is to provide a hands-on experience with the following embolic agents:

Gelfoam
PVA particles
Drug-eluting beads
Coils
Amplatzer vascular plug
Glue

Onyx

Vena cava filter

The objective is to provide a hands-on experience with the following devices:

Permanent IVC filters
Retrievable IVC filter
Filter retrieval systems
